New York is Broke: Paterson Delays School and Local Payments
Sales taxes and real estate taxes are down in New York.
Since it couldn't possibly be government incompetence and overspending what else could it be?
I have a solution the government will approve of. Create a new agency and hire lots of people to figure out why tax revenue is down. You could raise taxes to cover the additional expenses. By hiring more people, you would be reducing the unemployment problem. By raising taxes, this would make it a spending neutral change.
Don't you like the way government thinks?
