Failure Is The New Success.

http://abcnews.go.com/Business/economic-stimulus-minus-grade/story?id=9867659
Stimulus Gets B-Minus Grade

I am surprised that the mass media, which have always been shills for any communist politician, didn't give Barack Hussein Obama a better grade. They think his performance is worthy of a "B-" grade. It is too bad there aren't any journalists employed by the news media. If there were, then Barack Hussein Obama would get an "F-" for his performance. Or maybe it is a case of the media are believers in Barack Hussein Obama's "Brainwash America" tour currently in progress.

STIMULUS FAILURE BY THE NUMBERS

I wonder if the media included these figures in their assessment of the performance of Barack Hussein Obama? Is this information too depressing? Or is it a case of the mass media accepting Barack Hussein Obama's "Brainwash America" tour and the mass media's acceptance of the candidate who ran on Hope and Change "Hypocrisy And Cupidity"?

Millions of people have lost jobs since Barack Hussein Obama foisted the stimulus (welfare for the wealthy) on the the American public. Hundreds of thousands of people have been out of work for so long, they have given up looking for work. Most of states have lost a substantial number of jobs since the stimulus was passed. A number of states have see single digit unemployment climb to double digit unemployment since the stimulus bill passed. The actual unemployment rate is 50% higher than stated if you include people who have given up hope of ever finding a job and people who ran out of unemployment benefits because they have been unemployed for too long (even with the multiple extensions of unemployment benefits). Billions of dollars of stimulus funds went to congressional districts that don't even exist.

If this is considered a better than passing grade for saving the economy, I would hate to see what complete and utter failure looks like.

p.s. These people who saved the economy, also in a matter of days wrote a Health Care Deform bill that is supposed to manage health care for decades to come.

California Democrats Continue Hypocrisy And Cupidity.

http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_14421174
Dem group calls on Whitman to release tax returns
An independent Democratic group on Wednesday called on Meg Whitman, the leading Republican gubernatorial candidate and ex-CEO of eBay, to release her tax returns, saying the public has the right to know whether she paid her "fair share" in taxes.

Independent Democratic Group? Independent of what? Morals? Why doesn't the "independent Democratic" demand that Barack Hussein Obama release his birth certificate? All the prior presidents have?

What does the California independent democratic group hope to prove by demanding to see Meg Whitman's tax returns? The democratic party at the national level has already shown that tax cheats are perfectly acceptable as leaders of this country. A great number of tax cheats were suggested as being available for public office. A number of tax cheats, when found out, were too embarrassed to accept political appointments. Although a number of tax cheats did accept public office under Barack Hussein Obama, including the head of the Internal Revenue Service. What a great example for the rest of the country knowing that for democrats cheating on your taxes is an acceptable prerequisite for public office.

Now this is "Hope and Change" "Hypocrisy And Cupidity" I can believe in.

The Census Doesn't Count. Or Is It The Government That Can't Count.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/census/2010-02-17-Census-software_N.htm
Census software plagued by defects

The government census is very important. The government tells us so. The government needs the census for long range planning. The census happens every 10 years.

Don't you think that 10 years should be more than enough time to create a plan to manage the census and have it ready to go? If you do think the government is capable and competent to do long range planning for the census (or anything else), then you are sadly mistaken.

The software being written to manage the 2010 census will not be ready (if ever) until long after the counting is over. It currently has many major bugs. It will not be able to keep track of the people wandering around the countryside asking questions. It will not be able to tabulate the results that are turned in by the census takers.

But don't worry about the incompetence of the managers of the census. They haven't stopped at screwing up the software.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100216/ap_on_bi_ge/us_census_spending_waste
Millions wasted on census as head count approaches

The government is also wasting money on the census takers.

Before starting the census, the government pays workers to wander the streets to confirm street addresses. Of course with typical government efficiency, the government ended up paying 25% more than they estimated it would cost (almost $100 million more).

Next, the government needs to pay workers to wander the streets to ask people to fill out the census forms (if they haven't already voluntarily filled them out and mailed them back). The government is already wasting millions training people to be census takers who are not qualified to be census takers. The government is wasting millions paying census working to sit around and wait until the government decides if they want to use them. The government is wasting millions on travel reimbursement for people who either have not traveled, or would have been unable to do the travel they claimed they did in the time they claimed it took them to travel.

But you shouldn't worry about waste. The government ALWAYS knows what it is doing. Why would the government use the same method for counting the census that they did 200 years ago? Why would the government NOT use national databases of telephone numbers, tax return filers, drivers licenses, ... instead of sending people door to door?

p.s. The people who have had 10 years to plan for a census and still manage to get it wrong are the same people who in a matter of days wrote a Health Care Deform bill that is supposed to manage health care for decades to come.

Millions To Lose Homes. Proof That The Foreclosure Prevention Program Is A Success.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/17/AR2010021705166.html?hpid=topnews
Administration pushed to expand foreclosure-prevention program

Like everything else the government does (like saving the economy), the government rushes to create programs that don't do what they claim they will do.

A case in point is the foreclosure prevention program. This program is set to expire in 2 years. With millions of homes in foreclosure, the first year of the program may have saved 200,000 homes. (May have. With the unemployment problem decades away from being solved, many people may still lose their homes.) At this rate, the program may have helped another 400,000 people. Which will still leave millions who will lose the homes.

But you shouldn't be concerned. The government will shortly be starting another "Brainwash America" tour to explain how the government will have saved hundreds of thousands of home owners from foreclosure.

p.s. The people who can't figure out a simple program to save home owners, are the same people who in a matter of days wrote a complicated Health Care Deform bill that is supposed to manage health care for decades to come.

Flying Is Not An Option.

When Security Takes Longer Than the Flight
To get through airport security in Toronto for a flight to the United States, you now have to go through eight different screening lines or ID checks. Most passengers either get a pat-down or have their carry-on bags unpacked on tables, with every toiletry kit and pajama pair carefully checked.

Are all government workers stupid, or only the officials that come up with the programs the employees must follow?

8 separate screening lines?

Too bad we don't have a capitalist free enterprise system. If we had one, then someone would be motivated to figure out a way to screen passengers that would take less time than the actual flight.

Has The World Come To The End? An Honest Politician Speaks Out.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1134
Disillusioned Bayh advocates electoral “shock” to broken system
... newly retiring Sen. Evan Bayh declared the American political system "dysfunctional," riddled with "brain-dead partisanship" and permanent campaigning. ... Bayh argued that the American people needed to deliver a "shock" to Congress by voting incumbents out en masse and replacing them with people interested in reforming the process and governing for the good of the people, rather than deep-pocketed special-interest groups.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I finally saw something I never expected to see. A politician speaking honestly about the federal government and politics in general. Of course the ONLY reason Senator Evan Bayh could be honest is that he is retiring from politics. Even so, Senator Evan Bayh is articulating something that the news media and the administration from the president on down are either ignoring or ridiculing.

We currently have government of the special interest groups, by the special interest groups and for the special interest groups. No amount of "Brainwash America" tours by the administration and its minions will change that. When the citizens of the United States elected "hope and change" they didn't realize that the "hope" was to get elected and the "change" was for a dollar.

politics = from the words "poly", meaning "many", and "ticks", as in "small, blood-sucking parasites".

Italy And Malta Promote Assassination As Method To Deal With Dissidents.

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-02-17/italy-malta-ask-swiss-to-remove-qaddafi-from-banned-list.html
Italy, Malta Ask Swiss to Remove Qaddafi From Banned List
Italy and Malta asked Switzerland to remove 188 Libyans, including leader Muammar Qaddafi, from a list banning visas and end a dispute that led Libyan authorities to block most European visitors in retaliation.

Evidently anyone who supports assassination and hit squads to deal with dissidents should not be denied the right to travel. At least Italy and Malta think so. Maybe Italy and Malta should also protest the "do not fly" lists as being unfair to terrorists. I guess these days it is politically incorrect to be rude to dictators and others who devalue human life.
