California Governor Refuses to Sign Park, Beaches Smoking Ban
Earlier this week, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill banning smoking in state beaches and parks, the Los Angeles Times reports. He labeled the measure “an improper intrusion of government into people's lives.”

Really?

But sending government agents door to door to make sure we have adequate insulation on our homes is a proper intrusion of government into peoples lives? Sending government agents door to door to make sure we are using the proper settings on our thermostats is a proper intrusion of government into peoples lives? Sending government agents door to door to make sure we are using energy efficient light bulbs and other electronic equipment is a proper intrusion of government into peoples lives? Sending government agents door to door to make sure businesses are not causing more "Global Warming" emissions that the agents going door to door are creating is a proper intrusion of government into peoples lives? Forcing all people to buy health insurance that don't need or want it is a proper intrusion of government into peoples lives?

I guess we have to accept that the only time government accidentally stands up for the rights of the little guy, is when the government is standing up for the rights of the big guy.
