US Sen. Bob Bennett ousted at Utah GOP convention
Bennett was under fire for voting to bail out Wall Street, co-sponsoring a bipartisan bill mandating health insurance coverage and for aggressively pursuing earmarks.
Who would have thought it. A politician (in the worst sense of the word) lost his bid for reelection just because he voted against the best interests of his constituents and his country.
What is the world coming to when an American politician gets voted out of office for treating the American public like a cash cow to be milked whenever a politician wants to? What is the world coming to when an American politician gets voted out of office for voting to manage the minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day life of the average American? What is the world coming to when an American politician gets voted out of office for confusing freedom with slavery and then ordering the slaves to do his bidding? What is the world coming to when an American politician gets voted out of office for doing what politicians do best, accepting bribes and paying back contributors to their election campaign.
Chicago style corrupt politics may work in Chicago for corrupt Chicago politicians, but other parts of the country seem less forgiving.
