Biden: 'The recovery act is working' for Michigan
Vice President Joe Biden joined dozens of other administration officials today who fanned out across the United States to tout the successes of the $787-billion stimulus act passed one year ago.
Joe Biden and dozens of other minions are in the middle of their "Brainwash America" tour. Like Barack Hussein Obama, the rest of the administration is required to keep reminding all the jobless and homeless how well the economy is doing.
Joe Biden stopped in Saginaw to tell the people how well off they are to only have an unemployment rate of 14.6% (the highest in the nation) and job losses of 162,000 (population is slightly more than 200,000) since the stimulus / bailout (welfare for wealthy) bill was enacted.
“Some say the recovery act hasn't worked,” said U.S. Sen. Carl Levin. “I hope those folks who believe that would talk to the tens of thousands of teacher, cops and road workers who are working today because of the recovery act.”
What U.S. Sen. Carl Levin (and the rest of the henchmen) neglected to say is that he hopes you don't talk to the millions of people who have lost their homes and jobs, and have now been out of work for more than a year. Also, you shouldn't look too closely at the jobs that U.S. Sen. Carl Levin (and the rest of the henchmen) claim to have created for the mere cost of $787 billion. Thanks to "government accounting" (lies), many of those jobs that they claim were created still don't exist, or were counted multiple times. You should NOT think about the bill either. If it takes $787 billion to create tens of thousands of jobs, then it will take trillions of dollars to create the millions of jobs for the still unemployed.
The other thing the politicians are NOT talking about, is that all the jobs they are touting that they have created, are all government jobs. Given the logic that government hiring people is good for the economy, we can close all businesses (food, products, ...) and keep hiring teachers, cops, road workers, prison guards, thought police and the economy will be fine.

Silver Lining Hard to Find for Some on Anniversary of Stimulus
The United States of America owes $1.6 trillion more today than it did a year ago. The jobless rate has climbed from 8.1 percent to 9.7 percent. And the deficit has soared to record levels, with another record likely to be set this year.
I am not sure what part of the economy recovered other than the wall street wizards who managed too still get their bonuses while running their businesses into the ground. But for some reason, the average citizen thinks that skyrocketing long term unemployment (in the millions), skyrocketing home mortgage defaults (in the millions) and skyrocketing business failures isn't any kind of economic recovery that they recognize. Hence the need on the part of the government to keep explaining how wasting $3/4 trillion is good for you.
Gov't overhead wastes tax dollars at a rate of about 70 cents out of every dollar. At best, only 30 cents comes back to the public, and that includes money for "jobs created".
ReplyDeleteThis is money that has to be taken from citizens first, meaning it can no longer go to pay anyone's wages in a real job that already exists.
So... it follows that for every 30 jobs "created" by the gov't, 100 real jobs are lost, since those wages are now being paid to the gov't to cover overhead plus the jobs "created" by gov't.
