More Media Lies.

California governor's race: Jerry Brown steps back in at a time of crisis
The political process appears broken, brought down by partisan polarization and by restrictions approved over the years through ballot initiatives that hamper lawmakers' efforts to forge consensus.

I love it when the media spews the half-truths and lies they present as news. Is it any wonder that the media are losing their effectiveness as a news distribution source.

I suppose if you are a communist, trying to spread the poverty, the above line about "ballot initiative limitations" makes sense and seems honest. However, the rest of us have a different perspective on the "ballot initiatives" the article is talking about.

The truth is, that the ballot initiatives had nothing to do with the lawmakers' efforts to forge consensus. Other than to try to reign in the lawmakers' wasteful spending by limiting taxation. Unfortunately, the limits on taxation didn't limit spending. The California legislature has been running full steam ahead in spending every last dime they can get their hands on. In addition to spending everything they can get their hands on, the California legislature has been borrowing against the future by issuing bonds (collect money now, pay back later). So what is broken, is the lawmakers ability to live within a budget. Something that every body other than a politician learns to live with, or learns to live on the street.

When I catch the media lying in an article like this, I have to wonder how many other lies are spread throughout the article.
