Senator Nelson is upset at the public response to his accepting a bribe to vote for a reprehensible piece of legislation know as Health Care Deform. In response, he has started an ad campaign to try to explain why accepting bribes to pass an incredibly poorly written piece of legislation is a good thing for politicians in general and Nebraska in particular.

I don't know if his con game is having any effect on Nebraska voters. It does seem to be having an effect on the rest of the American public. A December 2009 poll showed that a majority of voters think the existing health care system can only be made worse if the Health Care Deform bill passes.
