Unemployment claims edge higher
434,000 new unemployment claims filed for week of January 2, 2010.
The economists and political hacks claim this is proof that the economy is recovering. They claim that businesses will soon start adding jobs.
People who are NOT receiving the bribes that the economists and political hacks are, wonder if the falling unemployment rate is because many of the firms that were having economic problems have already failed and are thus no longer employing anyone, so they are unable to fire anyone.
4,802,000 continued filing for unemployment benefits for week of January 2, 2010.
Which is lower than the prior week. But even the economists and political hacks are willing to admit that the reduced number filing have likely run out of benefits (even with the multiple extensions of benefits).
Who hires employees? Businesses.
Why do NONE of the optimistic blathering of economists and political hacks ever mention the number of jobs exported to foreign countries or the number of new businesses starting vs. the number of businesses closing? Maybe it is because those statistics would show that the great depression we are at the start of is getting even worse.
