Report: Plane Plot Suspect Boasted Of Others Trained To Blow Up Jets
This is horrible.
Was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab advised of his right to have an attorney present before being questioned?
I doubt that.
Any good attorney would have advised his client to be silent. Which is useful for when the client later claims he was not guilty of the crime. Or not guilty by reason of insanity. Or what ever other reason guilty individuals use to get acquitted of crimes they commit.
If Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was not advised of his rights, then any thing he said can't be used in a court at his trial. In fact, the various government security agencies should not be using any of that information to harass and pursue any other underwear bombers that are planning on attacking the airplanes of this country.
Isn't it a good thing that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has the rights given to any American citizen, rather than being treated like the enemy combatant that he is?
