Eureka! Why don't we take over Nevada?
I have a better idea.
Instead of taking over Nevada, which we can't afford, and couldn't manage anyway, let's break up California. How about Southern California breaking away from Northern California. Let San Jose and below form their own state.
Then, we need to sort out the population. Maybe we can convince the politicians to stay there, or move there if not already there. Maybe we can convince the tree huggers and the greenies that can't find enough excuses to block economic growth to move there. Maybe we can convince everyone that wants a haven for illegal aliens to move there. Once that is done, the people who are left might actually have a chance to rebuild the economy and make California a place that people want to come to, instead of flee from.
