Meg Whitman's climate change strategy
Meg Whitman, running for governor of California, seems to have figured out the perfect can't win strategy. Work to repeal AB 32 (the protect the environment and screw the citizens bill).
Is California having any problems with their economy?
California currently has a budgetary crisis. The current legislature believes that begging for money will help balance the budget. If that doesn't work, they want to release rapists and serial killers from prison. All the while claiming this will not cause a rise in crime. And to help future generations understand that releasing prisoners will not cause an increase in crime, they are also reducing funding to the educational system.
Why will repealing AB 32 help the economy?
AB 32 wants to make California a green state, and reduce the CO2 footprint and reduce global warming. Leaving aside that "Global Warming" has recently been proved to be a hoax and a fraud, the easiest way to reduce the amount of CO2 in California is to chase people away. So this bill makes it more expensive for businesses to set up and run. When you factor in the highest income taxes in the country, and the highest business taxes in the country, you have created a great way to chase businesses out of California. And when you chase out businesses, you also chase ot their employees (except for the ones who prefer to live off welfare and other non-work related income sources). This governmental policy is working. The higher paid employees and the more successful businesses are all moving out of state.
Why is this a campaign killer?
After chasing out the educated and the affluent, and welcoming the illegal aliens and the indigents, the only people left in this state are the IQ impaired. Many of them believe in "Global Warming", and unicorns, and low technology with high population, and Intelligent Design, and ...
So, anyone who actually understand reality and tries to fix the existing problems with a solution that works, will be laughed at by the press and the current politicians.

You obviously don't have to breathe the air in Southern California. Smog is a health hazard. I live in one of the less smoggy areas and on bad days it hurts my lungs to go jogging. Popularity of bills that reduce air pollution is NOT because Californians are obsessed with global warming.
