When San Francisco issued 17,474 pink slips to workers across nearly every city department, on Friday, what was not immediately clear was the disproportionate impact of the move, which hit 98 percent of workers in accounting and information-technology jobs while affecting about four percent of transit workers.

I just don't understand.

What is wrong with government?

Does the government hate the slaves citizens? Why does government have such horrible employment contracts that they need to fire everybody who works 40 hour weeks and then rehire them to work 37.5 hour weeks?

Is this the kind of flexibility and long term planning that you want to see managing your health care?
