How did we get here?

Where a Chicago style corrupt incompetent American politician gets elected to lead this country, and brings his Chicago style corrupt incompetent friends to rule the land with him? Where politicians with a 70% approval rating managed to reduce that to less than 50% approval rating in less than a year? Where politicians ram any poorly written pork barrel piece of legislation through congress because the can, not because anyone in the vast public wants it? Where anti-American activists get appointed to offices they can not be removed from and where there is no oversight? Where politicians lie to the public and say the economy is getting better when the economy is getting worse?
