The economy must be improving.
How else could the government afford to be paying out additional millions in benefits to the unemployed.
Oh wait.
The government can't afford to pay out the additional benefits. That is why they are raising taxes.
At least we can take comfort that since the economy has been saved, new employment opportunities will be returning some time in the next few years (or decades). Although I don't remember them promising those new jobs would be located in this country.
