The Situation:

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a devout Muslin, who was considered a terrorist threat (he was even reported by his father), and who was NOT put on any restricted flight list, embarked on an international flight with no luggage but with a bomb. When his flight reached Detroit, he attempted to set off the bomb he was carrying. Between this Muslim terrorist's incompetence, and the hyper competence of the passengers on the flight who prevented a second attempt to set off the bomb, a tragedy was narrowly averted.
