Amid outcry, L.A. supervisor Ridley-Thomas rethinks plans for $700,000 in office renovations [Updated]
Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas was planning on renovating his office. The initial plans for this renovation will cost about $700,000. Someone, NOT a government official, found out about this and got upset. That someone started spreading the word. At which point, a lot of people got upset. Then, a lot of upset people started letting the all supervisors know that spending almost $1 million to renovate an office when the economy is in a major recession makes them look like the freeloading criminals that they are. All the supervisors then pretended concern and promised to not allow this to happen at this time.
Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas is now upset that he won't be able to renovate his office at this time. However, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas has made it clear that since he is allowed to do whatever he wants to with his $3,000,000 annual slush fund that public disapproval will stop him from renovating his office. He has promised that if he is not allowed to do spend all that money at one time, he will still spend all that money a little at a time.
How dare the public question how Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas spends public funds!
