Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Upset That Courts Are Forcing Him To Obey Law.

Courts play referee role in California budget cutting

Isn't it horrible when the court system tries to make politicians obey the law?

After all, don't we elect politicians to break the law and lie to us? Why else would it be acceptable for someone like the governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to run for office on a no new taxes platform, and enact the largest tax increase of all prior politicians combined? Why else would the public pass tax limit laws on the amount of taxes that can be increased, so that politicians are now forced to call the newest taxes increases fees rather than taxes? Why else would the state issue bonds (borrow against future taxes) to increase current spending as a way around raising taxes?

Why do we even bother bother passing laws trying to rein in the criminal activities of politicians? They either break the laws outright, or figure out the typical weasel words to explain why the laws don't apply to them.
