Ray Bradbury was wrong.

The government won't hire firemen to burn all the books. The government will simply do what all governments do best. The government will waste so much money on higher salaries for themselves, putting relatives on the payroll, political payback, pet projects, bribes, ... that there won't be any money left to keep the libraries open.
