Initial jobless claims rise 17,000 to 474,000
Total jobless claims, including extended benefits, top 10 million
Unemployment Benefits are available for up to 99 weeks in some parts of the country. Hmm. 99 weeks. Isn't a year composed of 52 weeks? 99 weeks is almost double that number. Doesn't that mean that the government expects people to be unemployed for two or more years?
Aren't you glad that our government is working to help the unemployed? I just wish they were actually doing something that would provide jobs.
