NYC mayor on deadly shootout: `Too many guns'

There was a shootout in Times Square recently, which gave the mayor yet another excuse to blather on about how innocent bystanders should not be allowed to defend themselves from criminals with guns.

Maybe the mayor needs to try to ban cars because criminals can use them to kill people. Maybe the mayor needs to try to ban cutlery because criminals can use them to kill people. Maybe the mayor needs to try to ban thinking because criminals can use brains to plan crimes.

I have a few questions (and answers) for you?

What is a criminal? Someone who breaks the law.

Does passing anti-terrorist laws stop the terrorists from killing women and children? No.

Will passing an anti-gun ownership bill stop criminals from owning guns? No.

So what is the point of passing a law claiming to protect women and children, if it won't protect women and children? So that idiot politicians can claim they dislike killing women and children and so they can pretend they are doing something about it.

No law ever stopped any activity from happening. There are all kinds of laws that say it is illegal for politicians to accept bribes. I have not noticed a slowdown of politicians accepting bribe and acting againts the interests of the poeple who elected them.

The only things that laws do is create a new class of criminal.

So if you want to pretend that anyone who is willing to protect themselves from criminal activity is a criminal, go ahead. Just don't expect it will do anything to protect the lives of the victims.

The only thing that anti-gun laws does is take the guns away from law abiding citizens.

As an intended side effect, it also provides the criminals with a safer work environment.
