Record Labels Face $6 Billion Damages for Pirating Artists
Warner, Sony BMG, EMI and Universal are so busy fighting peer to peer file sharing because of imagined losses, they can't be bothered to pay royalties to the musicians on their labels.
But not to worry.
I am sure the music labels can hire some of the global warming scientific fraudsters to prove that it is good for the economy for music labels to rip off their performers. Or at least to prove that stealing from performers is good for the music labels.
Even if they can't prove that stealing from performers is good, I am sure they can justify it because the typical performer contract says stealing from the performer is the standard operating procedure for all labels and thus the performer should not complain about it.
After all, the music labels have been stealing from performers since the start of the music industry, so this is nothing to get upset about.
However, you do need to remember that only the music labels are allowed to steal. For anyone else, it is a crime.
